Compassion Centered Therapy

Quis Est Ea?

(Who is She?)

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to

Hello!

I have been in the helping profession since the early 80s. People often ask me why after so many years I am still excited to help people. It is because this work is truly my passion. I love being part of a support system in which people overcome obstacles and thrive. I am honored to work with those who summon the courage to take steps to begin therapy.

During my career, my primary focus has been helping those who have anxiety, parents with exceptional children/adults, people impacted by traumatic events, and people affected by personality disordered parents (not in romantic relationships). I have been trained in the most effective modalities to treat these aforementioned challenges. I have attended summer school at Oxford University’s Mindfulness Foundation in England to study Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and was awarded a bursary for the year 2019. I am a designated international Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy teacher. I am also trained in many modalities (see Therapies page). I truly love learning and I am consistently training and learning.

I have a License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in Arizona and California (since 1994) and have practiced as an LCSW in New Jersey. I have a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I have trained extensively through MentorCoach®. I earned a non-traditional doctorate in life coaching in 2004. In the course of my career, I’ve published a book for children in congregate care (Candie Canary’s New Home), was featured in a bestselling therapy book by Drs. Kaduson and Schaefer, been featured on many radio shows (most notably with John Trudell) and lectured with Marianne Williamson and Jerry Jampolsky, MD.
